Raleigh, North Carolina, Criminal Defense Law Firm

The Law Offices of Brad Sahl, P.C., focuses exclusively on criminal defense in Wake County. Our clients rely on our cost-effective, aggressive representation. Contact us if you are under investigation or have been arrested or charged with a crime such as the following:

Larceny: Larceny may be charged as a misdemeanor or felony, depending upon what was allegedly taken, how it was allegedly taken, or the value of what was allegedly taken.

Forgery: Forgery usually involves falsely and fraudulently making or altering a document. Sometimes clients charged with fraud or forgery offenses do not realize the seriousness of the situation.

Financial transaction card crimes: Financial transaction card crimes include a variety of offenses such as: forging a card; uttering a forged card; falsely encoding a card; signing a card fraudulently; using an illicit card; false representation as a cardholder; unauthorized presentment of a card; using a card to overdraw an account; obtaining a card as security for a debt; fraudulent deposits of money; receiving money improperly from a bank machine; false statement to obtain a card; submitting a false credit card sale; or soliciting a submission of a false credit card sale.

Possession of stolen goods: This offense can be charged as a misdemeanor or felony, depending upon whether the underlying larceny is a misdemeanor or felony.

Identity theft: Identity theft can involve the possession or manufacture of fraudulent identification, obtaining identification by fraud, using identifying information of another person in an illicit way, or trafficking in stolen identities.

Robbery: Can be charged as common law robbery or armed robbery depending upon whether a firearm or other dangerous weapon is possessed, used, or threatened in a way that endangers or threatens the life of a person.

Obtaining property by false pretenses: This offense involves making a false representation that intentionally deceives another person to obtain something of value. Are you alleged to have falsified travel records at your job in order to use company money to pay for personal travel expenses for yourself or your family? Did you give false statements to a financial institution or an individual when requesting a loan?

Breaking or entering:

Sale or delivery of a controlled substance: This is always a serious charge! The sooner you have a qualified criminal defense lawyer on your side, the better your likelihood of a favorable outcome.

Possession with intent to sell or deliver a controlled substance: Why did you allegedly have the drug? Did you have it to use or sell? If you are charged with this offense, you are being charged as a drug dealer, not simply a drug user. You can be charged as a drug dealer based solely on the amount of marijuana, cocaine, or meth found. You can also be charged as a drug dealer if drugs and drug paraphernalia are found together.

Trafficking: This offense alleges the possession, manufacture, sale or delivery of a specific quantity of a controlled substance. If you have been charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, you have an urgent need for an aggressive criminal defense lawyer. Your freedom and your future may be on the line. Trafficking offenses carry mandatory prison sentences and very large fines!

Possession of drug paraphernalia: Drug paraphernalia is broadly defined to include virtually any item used in consuming, storing, processing, packaging, manufacturing, preparing, or selling drugs. Drug paraphernalia designed to store or process large amounts of controlled substances may be considered evidence that you had intent to sell or deliver drugs — or that you were trafficking.

Maintaining a store, dwelling, vehicle, boat or other place for the use, storage, or sale of controlled substance:

Juvenile court: A delinquent juvenile is a person who is between 6 and 15 years old who commits a crime. An undisciplined juvenile is a person who is between 6 and 15 years old who is unlawfully absent from school or between 6 and 17 years old and is regularly disobedient to and beyond the control of the juvenile's parent, guardian, or custodian, or is regularly found in places where it is unlawful for the juvenile to be or has run away from home for a period of at least 24 hours.
